What is normal Idle Speed?

Hello all.

I am trying to determine what a good idle speed is. When I bough the bike, it idled at 1500rpms. After my Termi Slipons Im now idling at 1300rpms.

Seems a bit low. 1500 was smooth off the line. 1300 seems a little jerky.

What idle speeds are you guys getting?

fairplayinc,

All four of my Ducs idle at 1200 RPMs without missing a beat. No stalls. I'm running Full Termis on my 1098s and aftermarket cans on my 907ies. All of them have dedicated ECUs and free flowing air filters. All of them have been dialed in on the dyno.

1350 on mine. There's a thread on this somewhere here, the normal range if I recall was anywhere between 1200-1500.

1300 here with termis, 1500 is way too fast. that was one of many things i hated about the stock exhaust.

The "recommended" RPM at idle is supposed to be around 1,350-1,400. I too thought that it was too fast, but I saw a Ducati bulletin that stated that was the correct Idle speed.

I called my local dealer and they said 1300 is what it is supposed to be set at. I liked it at 1500 but I must admit, it sounds pretty awesome with that lower rpm lope.

My warm idle is dead even at 1300. Termi 1/2 system.
