Weird Vibration

Hey guys, I have no idea if it's a coincidence or not but after riding two up with my girl for the first time I am feeling a weird vibration over the last couple days. It is consistently between 3500 and 4000 rpms. I notice the vibration when I hit that range and then more so when I let off the throttle and fall back into that range. Any idea what this might be? Not so much a feeling in the bars, but my legs and up the seat. I hope my engine isn't going to explode.

Perhaps too much weight on the back wheel, ran over a pothole and ended up with a oblong rim. (I'm not implying anything here * hint hint *)
JK man, please be more precise. It is the wheel, the engine, lateral or axial vibrations, under smooth or abrupt acceleration? Many places to search for. My bike vibrates badly (the mirrors want to fall off) under the same rpm band and that is normal. I don't think the engine is meant to be smooth at such low rpm's.

I knew there was something for the vibes. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ducat...item3cb1374973
Also look up this thread Disabling the Exhaust Valve with no CEL *PICS* and it will explain the vibration issue. I hope this works for you.

Not sure about that article. It is definitely an engine vibration. My bike was smooth from about 3k on and now when I smoothly accelerate you can feel it pick up a vibration at about 4k rpm. Then it smooths back out about 4500 to 5000 rpm. It really seems to run rough in that rpm range. I thought it might be a fueling issue but why would it start all of a sudden?

A friend and member here Smarty had something similar (maybe?) happen to his 1198S.

From memory, incorrect fitment of valve collets at assembly in the factory. She finally went bang.

You'd have to talk to him though to compare notes.

Dude, what is it with you and seafoam?!! Do you have a stockpile of it or something? Seafoam wouldn't have done anything to help in this situation, either.

Probably because she's embarrassed of eating my 848's dust last weekend 2 weeks and I'm back in business with my new tank! Let's do this!
