What sort of results have people experienced with a Power Commander on their 1198S to tune the bike? I've done a search on this site and there's some great information however i'm curious specifically about the 1198. If so, do you know of a good place to get one online? I've previously had one fitted to a 749 and it helped smooth out the power delivery plus helped with the fueling. Thanks Last edited by Alex.; January 28th, 2012 at 08:38 AM. |

I got 173 BHP at rear wheel. Full 70 mm Corse System. DP performance Air Filter and PCV. This was on a Dynojet Dyno. Unfortunatly a week later my PCv gave up on me so went back to DP ECu however I will go back to that set up when fund prevail. I can post up the dyno chart if you interested.

Buy a Microtec ECU.
These bikes are way smarter than a Kawahandazuki. You add a smarter brain, and you don't need the PC. |

That is exactly right! The ECU's are smart in these bikes! You upgrade to DP Ecu (which I also have) you can do all your fuel mapping through it. If you upgrade and go one better to a Microtec you can actually adjust fueling per cylinder, control when your fans come on (these bikes are hot!!) Fans usually don't kick on until 220 degrees... with the microtec you can kick them on at 150 if you desired. Also a lot more, but u definitely don't need a PC with the right ecu.

Ya I would like to know more about modifying DP ECU. It was my understanding that the map was locked - and that you could not adjust it. Needed Microtec PV5 or other. All a PV5 does is modify the ECU settings correct?? That was my understanding anyways. I just installed my PCV so I will get it dyn'd in the spring.
