Default Factory 1098s fork position over tripples??

Sponsored Links
Hey guys, i can't find my old notes on the factory fork height setting (above the 1098s tripple clamps)

From memory it was like 14.7 or 15mm above the flat part of tripple to the top of the "s" fork caps.

If anyones got one in the stock position that can measure for me that'd be greatly appreciated.

I'm also curious if the 1198s run the same fork height...

Distance between each line is 4mm. I think most tuners reccomend 12-15mm to the top of the tube, not including cap, depending on a number of variables.

Top of clamp to the cap/fork line is 10mm. I recommend measuring from the axle centerline to the top of the triple clamp, unloaded. This will give you a more accurate baseline for chassis adjustments.

I use this method because I'm able to square my tool flushed firmly against 3 positions to get consistent and accuracy down to .02 mm every time I measure it.

Dan recommends flushing forks with tripples which FOR ME just does not work at all.
I will look though as I'm very bored at work
