The stock springs that come with the 1098 rust quickly and are cheapily replaced with Corse Dynamics, Speedymoto, etc... springs, which are all the same size, (which will fit the current caps and screws) and made from stainless steel and will not rust.
Just a heads up the springs are not the same, Corse Dynamics is same as OEM, but the Speedymoto are shorter.

Good call Nick!! I bought my Speedymoto springs from you guys so long ago, I didn't realize they were different.

P.S. OP, I really enjoy my Speedymoto ones and highly recommend them!

Went and picked through the service history for the bike i had faxed to me at the time of purchase... along with the DP pressure plate he also put on a spring and screw kit with caps. So were good there.

I was going to order the Oberon from motowheels, but they seem to be sold out of red... can anyone recommend a nice site to order one of these from? I suppose i could get black but i think I'd like the red one more.

Contact Matt@motowheels.com. He can order the red Oberon slave cylinder for you. We get shipments from them on a regular basis.

Might want to consider the
CORSE DYNAMICS Polished SS Clutch Springs as well.
Most other aftermarket springs are heavier than stock springs - which would result in a heavier clutch lever. You could sell the current springs in the classifieds fairly easy.

Thanks for all the info guys. Placed my order for a red Oberon Clutch slave cylinder and a pair of Oakley's. And since i was in the spirit of spending money i also ordered an aluminum tool set off ebay so i can remove my wheels for rubber changes and adjust my chain tension.

Cheers

Nick

Oops don't bother with the aluminum wheel socket. It will break the first time you use it. That nut is on there pretty tight. Best to buy a steel one. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Sucks, people say don't use steel tools on the front axle nut, but to use steel on the rear...

I'll be careful with it and hopefully it will work out.

I think some are better than others. I have used my aluminum without issues, but of course I've probably only used it 5-6 times...waiting for it to break.

Pottebaum bought an expensive steel one, and it doesn't fit well, or I should say tooo well its too tight and doesn't feel like it wants to go on...without a hammer.

This is a good steel socket that works with a lot of the aftermarket nuts as well as OEM.

CORSE DYNAMICS Wheel Nut Socket: 1098/1198/MTS1200/Streetfighter/Diavel
