Just sold the harley and the Supermoto
I am looking at a base 1198 or Pani. There are a few left over 1198's and I am wondering how long will parts be available for the 98? I love the trellis frame and figure with the money I save I can do some mods. I am a weekend warrior not a track guy, so the latest greatest is not a necessity. Thanks

They will be around a lo.g long time buddy. Can't go wrong with that decision. You def should see if you can ride both of them first as they are considerably different in riding styles. I sold my 1198 Corse which only had 1600 miles on it so I could get the Tri.
You should be able to find some really good deals out there but just try the 1199 so you can make a calculated decision my friend. Btw where do you live? |

Buy used! I would say an 1198SP is the best option. Buying used allows you to pick up a bike with after market mods already done, for a fraction of the cost.

I completly agree. If I knew better two years ago I would have done the same thing. I would have bought a used 1198s instead of my new 1198.
There will be parts avaiable for a long time. These bikes are going to be around for a long time. I feel like more people will be racing the 1*98 more now that there is a new model out.

The OEM part number comes up as $920 in the system (same for all dealers) but my parts guy cut me a break at $828. I realize thats a couple hundred bucks more than a carbon nose from say CDT or who have you but it's beautiful.
And it's not the nose you have to worry about from Ducati. It's the OEM R Tail which is OBSCENELY overpriced at over $5,000. |

consider the plastic tank issue on older bikes(they swell) dealer told me Ducati settled in court and will no longer be replacing them once your bike is out of warranty, i got a new one last week(tank),,,to bad they cant get it to run.
