I have noticed that some people do this and others do not. I am just curious as to what people think/do regarding this situation.

Out of respect I waive to every rider. Doesn't bother me if they don't waive back.

I wave to most, unless i'm in a position where I can't let go of the bar like during shifting. I would acknowledge with a nod.

I wave to anyone on 2 wheels and for f*uck sake it's not that difficult to do. Lazy and snob for those who doesn't!

I always wave, the only time I think twice about waving is if its a 50-150cc scooter without tags.

Normally the HD guys wont wave back, but when I'm on my 919 (naked sport touring bike) I always trick them into waving.

When I first started riding I waved to everyone. Now, I only wave back.
