Bimota only make 200 db8 a year. Sprung and fitted out to customer specs . Build takes 3 months then air freighted to you. Ive got 700km on mine and definetly not fuelled right. Got a 70 mm set of titanium pipes to fit soon and get a reflash done. Hey Rossa i use to live there in 1981-83 was racing for a cycling team based out of San Marino. Got some good contacts ex factory and sbk team Ducati

Ducati is on the verge of tipping over and being too mainstream...hope they don't lose sight of what makes them special. I considered MV F4RR, but I'm not paying all cash for my bike and the lender for Ducati was good...lender for MV was rediculous with their rate.Tough here finding good lenders for bikes..interest is retarded.BMW is a good lender and will loan for other brand bikes, but outside of them, regular banks generally stick it to ya. I'm really interested to see how this 99 thing turns out. What seperated ducati from the rest was the torque factor and getting out of corners. Now that, that is gone..even with the better handling of the 99..and the better top end...it's bottom end sounds very lazy by most and the top end is still lagging behind the others...so i'm predicting in racing circles they end up shooting themselves in the foot trying to be like the others.i may be wrong..but i want to see first.

Sort of agree there. Alot of L and V twins are a bit lazy ie retarded ignition and lean fuel maps toeet emissions. Im not sure of the basic difference between my SF and 1098s, but the SF fuel map is not interchangable with a 1098 even though they are the same engine . Maybe the cams are different because my SF pulls like crazy from 3-4000 rpm but my 1098 has more top end pull 7000 and up. SF has o/s intakes filter tuneboy mapping and Akros. 1098 has bigger intakes tuneboy mapping and double dog exhaust. The 1098 seriously flies now Put it side by side in a roll on with a mate and me on my DB8 1198. Ive got some work to do on the Bimota !!
Personally i reckon the 1199 is more track orientated and the 1198 would be more satisfying on the road.

So I have a 2011 1198SP and a 2011 Diavel Carbon Red. Here are my opinions. The Diavel is way more comfortable, easier to ride, doesn't generate as much heat. Two up riding is practical on the Diavel. I took the passenger pegs off of the 1198. It's not comfortable for two up, for driver or passenger. The clutch is easier on the Diavel. The low RPM's are smoother on the Diavel. The Diavel has as much or more low in torque as the 1198 (based on seat of the pants). However, the 1198 has more top end. That said, the 1198 is a blast to ride. It wants to power wheelie all the time in first and second and sometimes in third. I have a full termi system on the Diavel. I run without the baffles. It is loud but sounds awesome. I have not had it on the dyno but I'm told without the termi you get about 138 at the rear wheel and perhaps 5 more with the full termi. That's plenty of horsepower to get yourself in lots of trouble. You will smoke most sport bikes off the line and in the quarter mile I imagine, if that is your thing. The 1198 stock from what I have read generates about 148 horse power and another 5 or 6 with the termi system. However, the 1198 is much lighter than the Diavel. So, with the extra horsepower and lighter load, the bike is a beast. It is tough to ride on the gas coming out of corners, but that also makes it very exciting. So, if you want something that is more practical, hauls ass, fun to ride, looks bad ass, get the Diavel. Don't get me wrong, I do love my black and red trellis framed 1198SP tractor
