Default 1098R or 1199?

Is it a hard question or not. Thinking of buying a new bike next year and I'm stuck between the 2. All input is welcome. Please No trolling.

1098R. But honestly if you have that kind of cash, get both.

I'd hate to get caught in traffic on the R. Those underseat exhausts cook my seat. Even a longish stoplight is hot.

Really? If you have the "s" why get the r? I know there is some differences but I doubt you ride the "s" to it's full potential. There is a guy in our area selling a 1199 already. It has under 700 miles non abs version. Has some upgrades. I know him and the bike is mint and wasn't beat on.

Here is the listing for the 1199

$17,500 or trade for bikes (plus cash) described below.

700 miles, first service scheduled but not completed.

SpeedyMoto front and rear axle sliders.

Corse mirror block off plates and original mirrors.

Also, a complete but uninstalled Tankslapper body protection kit comes with the bike.

No dents, falls, issues, recalls, fires or problems of any sort. I cannot find any fault with the bike: it is light and nimble and handles like a lightweight. The electronics actually work and make riding the bike on the street or track almost easy, if riding a 180 HP bike can ever be described as easy. My guess is that 50% of my riding has been on wet mode, but hey, I'm 57 and brittle.

I bought the bike to do a little street riding and trackdays, but this thing is so fast that it scares me. Personally, I'd rather have a second generation SV or a single cylinder race bike to run track days with. So, I will accept those types of bikes in trade, and perhaps a cherry, very low mileage 2009+ Aprilia 550/450 SXV. A 2010 KTM 690 Duke is not out of the question either.

Will also consider trades on cherry street bikes with clear titles that I can sell quickly.

Bike is located in my garage in suburban Buffalo. There is a lien on the bike because I financed it through my credit union, but I've made friends with the loan officer so the transfer should be painless. You may be able to get 2.99% financing with excellent credit and 4.99% with good credit.

Definitely the 1098R. If you don't like it you will sell it for the same price - they already took the hit in depreciation. They are much more exclusive. The panigale will be here in large numbers within a year. You could always get one, but a 1098R is hard to get easily. And, they are plenty fast with top notch components that I doubt a 23k Panigale has
