diagnostic light ver. dtc related

So for the first time in the past month of riding the diagnostic light started blinking during low speed (under 30mph) braking. For fear it was the known vr issue I checked my voltage, however it was perfect at 14.3-.5. Looking at the manual it also flashes to indicate an issue with the dtc, so I turned it off and mimicked the same condition....no more diag light!

Anyone have this happen to them? I tried to see if there is any message when it occurs but no code number. Would the errors still be logged by the ecu and can I retrieve them with the VDST? I checked the pickup pins on the rotor...does the front wheel sensor need to be cleaned from time to time? And if it was an issue with the sensors not being connected right it would occur all the time not under these specific conditions. Any help would be appreciated.

mine did that yesterday but from what i racall as i got above 20-30mph the light went out. SO im thinking maybe i really need to learn exactly how the dtc works. Just a side note....i never used my dtc before always left it off. so wondering if it needs a few minutes to calibrate itself??? time for some homework

yeah my light goes out above the same speed too...guess I'll try cleaning the sensor and verifying the connections.

How are your rotor sensors? Did you get the right rotors with the sensors or did you make your own?

got them machined by someone who did the same conversion...I checked the pick-up pins and they all seem fine. I'ld find it unusual for the pick-up pins to now start causing issues plus it would mean the issue would happen all the time not only during slow speed.

So I found what my issues was....unsecured front wheel sensor wire. Thought I had things all tucked away but looks like the sensor wire was loose enough to rub against the rotor (while moving) and got wires exposed. For now I've tidied up the cord and cover up the bare wires. Guess I'll be stalking ebay for a new sensor.

the diag light comes on to indicate an issue...the only light that should come on are the rev lights on the top of the gauge cluster that says how much the dtc system is working
