I just recieved it for the 1st time and am curious to know. The bike wouldn't start, but after turning off the ignition then back on again to clear it, it started fine. Recently I also recieved a BATT 5.1 Error, so I'm wondering if the two are tied together in any way... Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I had this error also, was after cleaning the bike with water. My dealer told me that's a problem when the antena around the keylock is not able to read your key. Try to blow the water around the keylock. (sorry for my english as I'm a french speaker) Net |

Old thread, but just got this error after having the GPR rotary damper installed on top of carbon fiber key housing. Had to turn the key off and on several times before she would start up.
Anyone else have this problem with a GPR damper/CF key cover? Hopefully it won't be a recurring problem. |

BATT 5.1 and 5.2 are Battery Voltage Error. IMMO 37.0 - 37.5 is Immobilizer Error. You have probably disturbed the alignment of the key sensor, the ring on the ignition switch surround, or (as suggested above) got water in somewhere. The battery voltage problem is probably the battery itself, unless the terminals aren't secure. The two problems are probably not connected. If a battery test doesn't reveal a problem, and the bike is under warranty, you might have to talk to your dealer.. |

I've had the immobiliser 37.5 error about 6 times in the last month and havent washed my bike with water since december. I avoid pooring water near the dash/key hole so i dont see how that could be an issue. I do have the carbon key gaurd, but have had that for over 6 months so dont see why it would cause a problem all of a sudden.
Do you guys think my immobiliser antenna is on the way out? |

doubt it, the antenna probably just need to be taken out cleaned and reinstalled. it's easy, i did it in about 10 min time. worth a try anyway?

the antenna is the plastic ring with wire running to the bike that is attached to the key-lock on the underside of the plastic (or carbon fiber if you have upgraded) key-guard. by cleaning, i mean just unclip the plastic ring from the key-guard, wipe both the plastic ring and key-guard clean and reinstall. i think if water gets trapped between the ring and key guard it somehow throws the signal off, which doesn't really make sense to me, but it seems to have worked for me
