Not sure about other dealers, but at Ducati Omaha we've sold 40% of our allocation at this point, so there should still be plenty of bikes available if you still want to get a deposit down with your local dealer. You might not get one in MARCH like the some of the earliest birds on the deposit list, but you can still get one.

In VA the Tricolor are gone, you can find 1-2 S models and there are a few places who can get Base models but those are going to be the latest released models...people go crazy in April when it hits 60-70 and will grow impatient.

I just bought a Multi Touring S and not sure I am worried about getting the Tricolore that I have reserved as I kinda want a black one anyway and am willing to wait till 2013. I am getting one of the first ones in the state and one of very few tricolore's, which makes me kinda want it anyway, even if it sits.
If I decide I don't want it though, I wonder if it's better to just buy it and sell it to someone that can't wait or just bail on the deposit?

I really think Ducati ballsed up the specs and price points for this range.
There's not enough between the bikes to provide incentive to upgrade. What is 'how many are left' anyway? Don't you order one, they build it and send it to you? By the way... you get 'exclusivity' with your purchase. That's what's exclusive

On the Tricolore, vs. the 1199 Panigale S, you get the Tricolore paint scheme, the Termi slip-on exhaust kit, and the DDA+ GPS data acquision/lap timer kit, for $4000 more.
