Or you can try Specialized Powder Coating in Huntington Beach. They also do Ceramic exhaust coating.

A good anodizing shop will do it better so that keys won't scratch through. I do anodizing in my home with a bucket and some stuff from Eastwood. A bumper shop will do it better as they're outfitted for it.
Anodizing is flat by nature, a flog of keys tossing around scratching tree's up are what jacket pockets are for (or you'd scratch the tank too). Powder coat all you want, but if you flog keys around you'll want a Painter too. |

Multilayered coatings such as chroming have grown leaps and bounds. Black chroming, cobalts, etc are the newest rage. I counted over 200 different coatings on one site alone.....so many options..

hmmm, black chrome could look awesome on a stealth! or it could look like shit. I'm not worried about the finish because of keys, more because of the triples adjustability and constantly changing things to try new settings.

As a previous post mentioned, a couple of poorly anodized parts I bought over the years (SSR Wet Clutch Cover) sun faded to a nasty bronze in no time at all so I'd suggest going the powder coating route. I'll snap some pics for the OEM top triple and a couple other pieces I had coated recently at a place up in Chatsworth:
Andrews Powder Coating Andrews Powder Coating. Custom and Semi-Production Powder Coating.

Keep in mind though: Powder coating is just thick paint really. I'd equate it to 2 base coats and 2 good clears. The only reason you wouldn't paint it is the lower cost of powder coating.
I favor anodizing in this case. Not in a bucket like me, but from a good bumper shop. |
