No - do as normal shift, just without the clutch. (momentary pause with the throttle)

Practice makes perfect.

A clutchless upshift is done by putting some presure on the shift pedal then momentarily cutting throttle a little, The throttle cut allows the engine speed reduce untill it is synced to the output speed based on road speed of the next gear. when the speeds match the trans slips into the next gear easily without damage. The quickshifters are simply just a throttle cut out. so, no don't just bang it through, if you were being serious...
the issues with my quickshifter are most likely due to an internal adjustment of the shift selector assembly, or the throttle cut out time is too short to fully advance the shift collar into the next gear before engine load is returned.

Thanks, I can shift it like that at low speeds but I noticed I had to let off the throttle quite a bit. Just wondering if at high rpm it would just shift right through or if I would have to back off the throttle quite a bit. I'll have to practice this fo sho!

Garrett,
even at higher RPM you still have to back off the throttle to get the the transmission to unload into the next gear....Unless, of course , you have a quick-shifter and it takes care of the "backing off the transmission " for you..

Dont do it unless you have DQS
Using DQS in any other way i.e. putting around the city kind of defeats it's purpose, which is for QS racing.

Thats what scooters are for.

Ride safe.
