Default My '08 848.....thus far.

Just putting up a few shots of how the bike looks at the present moment. I've been able to track it at Road America (5/28/12 for ZARS TrackSchool2/NOV) and at BIR (6/9/12 for a ZARS trackday in INT). I had the intention of using this past td to work on skills I have learned at CSS (took Lv 1& 2 at Infineon Raceway back in early April) and TS2, but totally ended up just trying to get used to the new setup. Have A LOT of work to do as far as building confidence in both myself as well as what this thing is really capable of (especially with the new wheels/tires/braking setup). Next trackday is back at BIR for a 2-day event a month from now. This bike is COMPLETELY overbuilt for my skill level, but I'm anxious to get some more riding work done so I can do the bike some form of justice!

Road America (this trackday was on a Monday and was pre-Carrozzerias/Q2s/Spiegler lines/floating rotors/monoblocks/RCS-19....all of which was on by that Sat THANKS LUDEDUDE!!)

Tried my best to keep it tasteful (had '08 Marlboro/Alice GP replica bodywork on for a bit before realizing it was a bit 'loud' for a primarily street-ridden bike), so it is a mix of some very functional bits with a little bit of aesthetic upgrades added.

Here's the mod list so far:

*Akrapovic Evolution slip-on exhaust
*ASV F3 clutch lever
*Bazzaz Z-FI piggyback ECU
*Brembo M4 Monoblock calipers
*Brembo RCS-19 brake master cylinder
*Carrozzeria V-Track wheels

*CRG RR rearsets
*D.I.D. VX525 chain
*DucaBike fuel cap w/ carbon key
*Ducati Performance carbon tank protector
*Ducati Performance oil fill plug

*Ducati OEM solo seat cowl
*Ducati OEM '848 EVO' Dark decals (minus the 'EVO') overlaying the factory red decals
*Dunlop Sportmax Q2 tires (F-120/R-190)
*Evoluzione rear fender eliminator
*Full-floating rotor conversion
*GPR V4 steering stabilizer
*MotoCorseJP carbon rear cowl bumpstop
*Motowheels lightweight aluminum rear subframe
*Oberon 29 mm clutch slave cylinder
*Ohlins FGRT 819 forks
*Ohlins TTX36 rear shock
*PitBull 14 tooth front sprocket

*ShiftTech carbon front fender

*TwillTech carbon air runners
*TwillTech carbon dash
*TwillTech carbon exhaust heatshield
*TwillTech carbon front sprocket cover
*ZeroGravity Corsa clear windscreen

BIR (still waiting for pic package link to be sent, so a watermarked image will have to do for now, lol)

And yes, suit is currently at Tom the Tailor's here in the Twin Cities getting taken in so the bottom half isn't so loose on my chicken legs....)

Still looking back it's hard to believe I haven't owned this bike for a full year and now have roughly 13,5xx miles on it. Bought it from Adam (aka: 'ludedude') back at the end of July last year with 4k on the clock and near-stock.

Mod bug hit not even a week later (bought his Akras and ordered the CRG rearsets & -then-Techspech tankpads) and apparently never let go....

Thanks for reading & looking!

-Christian

Love the rims man. Looking at the same ones for my bike. Where did you get them?

Thanks, man. Actually bought them from my friend who bought member 'fly's bike last year (which I believe 'fly' was the first to have the V-Tracks in Wine Red in the US and got them directly from Carrozzeria). My friend ended up deciding to sell his 848, so he proposed the idea of buying some of the mods he had in combination with everything I'd already done to my bike to help create what's probably the sickest 848 in MN. Guess I'll find out if I ever make it to a Cars & Coffee meet...or Wheels of Italy in Aug. And hopefully I can keep it that way by not having any off-track excursions/ pavement inspections this season. O.O

Thanks. At first I wasn't really going to go for them and figured he'd be able to sell them no problem. Now that they're on the bike I had no clue how much the complete the theme I was going for aesthetically. REALLY good match for the bike.

Awesome looking GT-R you have there! I'm more partial to the 'classic' ones (R32/33/34), but finding a MotoRex/ federally legal Skyline GT-R is pretty tough considering people that have them tend to hold onto them. The R35 is world-class though! Great car.

Yep. Gas cap is by Ducabike and got it via Bellissimoto.

+1 great shot from the rear during your trackday. I wish there were good photographers when ever I do track days.

I have much better visibility out of these than I did with the OEM units. The ability to pivot the entire shell outward so the view no longer includes my elbows was well worth the investment.

Thanks, man. We are blessed because we have two very talented photogs that shoot the ZARS trackdays and CRA race weekends up here.

Thanks. Great looking bike you have as well, man!

Lol, I'm pretty much done modifying. Only thing I have in the mail right now is a Bazzaz ZFI ECU and a set of Carbone Lorraine SBK5 pads. Eventually I may upgrade to Brembo HP or BrakeTech Iron Axis rotors and possibly the RCS-16 for the clutch, but I'll invest in SharkSkinz track bodywork before that happens.

If I weren't so set on tracking this bike, I'm pretty sure it would spiral *even more *out of control to things like custom painted full carbon bodywork, BST carbon swingarm, BrakeTech CMC rotors, OEM aluminum tank, etc...

Only thing I wish this bike had aesthetic-wise is a red frame. IMO, that would complete it.
