I recently purchased a solo seat cowl and although it looks great I am unable to get 100% proper fitment. It almost seems like the spring in the rear is too strong. Does anyone have tips to get this to lay flush? Below you can see a pic of how it is fitting in the rear, the front fits perfect.
thanks kluby |

The resepticale that the pin goes in can be adjusted with washers. You will need to remove the exhaust cans and plastic under tail to access the lock. Install a washer between the cowl and the lock to lower the lock and retighten with the 2 fasters that you see under the seat cowl.

Mine does the same thing. Never figured out how to fix it. Tried the method above but couldnt get the seat to lock after. and it was too low on the front of the bike after. Anywho, I don't really care anymore. lol

Mine was EXACTLY the same. I tried adjusting the pin;- removed the spring plus with the help of a cut / filed down washer I added some material to the slot in the pin meaning the pin had to be pushed down lower to latch. I also played around with the rubber pads aswell.
Neither seemed to help much. However I did notice that sometimes it just catches "right". So I never solved the issue really but now know if I try it a few times the the rear will stand proud like yours.....but if I persevere and try it a few more times sure enough it'll fit perfectly. |

I have seen a few different ones for sale from 35.00 up to 160.00. How much did you pay because if the expensive one does not lay flush then I will go with the cheaper one?

This was $150 I believe. I don't think that it is of bad quality, just needs adjustment. Haven't had a chance to adjust yet of on vacation for a couple weeks so a lot to take care of before then. When I get back I will certainly try the adjustment and post pics.
