I don't know how to say 'is it really worth it'. depends what you expect from it?
it's not going to transform your bike into a 1098 or something, it simply looks a bit nicer (to some eyes) and will sound a bit louder. you should also gain a little bit of power. for best results yes you should get a chip (plenty of off the shelf eprom's available for the basic 748 + slipon combo) or get it tuned on the dyno with a custom map or using a power commander etc. plenty of people have fitted slipons without changing the chip/tune and some were happy and some were not, but I think everyone will agree that to get any performance benefit from them you'll need at least a chip to suit. |
