Default What this worth

Hi, quick intro first as Im new to the site. I've been riding bikes all my adult life in the UK (so about 30 years in the saddle). I've always up to now owned jap bikes (twins and fours) and do the majority of my own maintenance. ive done engine strips in the past to replace gearboxes and normally do my own vavle clearances etc.

A couple of years ago I discovered the joys of track days and basically havent ridden on the road since. i currently run a ZX6R on track but have been tempted by a guy selling a 916.

The bike is not road legal and has no reg docs. It does have frame and engine numbers but they dont match. The bike has a few extras like the termi exhuast, Senna E-prom, gilles rearsets and a smattering of carbon. The engine is standard as far as I know.

The one thing I cant work out is what the front forks are? their not standard and I've been told by the guy selling that they are Showa? Any Ideas?

So what would you guys put a value of on this bike?

By the way its had new belts and a fettle, but has not had a vale clearance check (so that would need to be done)

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Showa forks were put on this bike from the factory. Some models had Ohlins.

Hard to put a price on something like this...It sounds like things have been swapped around and we still dont know the mileage. If you are looking to use it as a track bike, however, it makes things be a little less nit picky. If clearences have never been checked (I find hard to believe) you may run into a little more serious issues when you go in to set the valves yourself. These bikes had issues with rockers flaking and even wearing groves into the cam lobes (ask me how I know...)

As for price...I still cant justify this without knowing more I guess. Maybe someone else can help you out. If I had to say a price I'd offer him 4k.

I had a few of these as track bike. If it is not stolen don't worry about it as track bike.

Can you list what the bike has for aftermarket parts. Rocker issue is a problem for this bike.

As far as trackability a 30MM triple will make it handle very nice.

Hard to put a value without knowing more detail about the bike, condition, parts, etc...

If you can zoom in on the photo,s the forks aren't the standard 916 Showa's so I was wondering if anyone knew what they had come from?

As for extras the bike has termi exhausts, gilles rearsets, senna e-prom, carbon airbox, swingarm cover, side panels and fairing infills. Its got an ally race fairing stay.

The plan is for it to stay as a track bike.

I didn't read the whole thing I was interrupted by my son.

With all of those parts, I assumed that the engine is in good condition I would say about $4K.

Take a photo from the cockpit looking down on the forks. the bike is worth what you are willing to pay. If it's been raced, as it sounds like it has and the motor has been rebuilt , etc. then there is no real way to put a true value on the bike other than what you think is fair. I see engines for sale around the 1500$ to 2000$ range, 3-4000$ for the bike should be OK. It looks pretty nice from where I'm sitting, but the photos are not detailed enough. How does it start, idle, run , turn ,brake? Take it to a dealer and let them look it over....
