Default Front rotor warp

Sponsored Links
My 02 748 has developed front disc rotor warp. Would anyone in the Melbourne area know where to get the discs machined and approximately how much it would cost for the two front rotors?

Thanks

new rotors will set you back $6-800 depending on the brand, and where you buy them from .. PM me if you want info.. or call Planet Discs, they're down near Melbourne somewhere..

I rang awesome discs after one of the monster forum guys highly recommended him....he was great! he now does 'wave' shape alterations to OEM rotors as well as straightening. Give him a go!

Are they warped or merely have pad buildup on them. This will give the pulsing at lower speeds. Sorta like a poor mans ABS.

Before replacing them take them off and do the rotor hone routine which fixed mine good as new. If you have a drill press it's relatively easy. You can manually rotate the table but I motorized it to rotate at 30 rpm. After honing, cleaning is critical. Use a volatile solvent then when the wife isn't home, run them through the dishwasher.

Thanks for your input guys, might try slower than you's cleaning routine first then take some
measurements before I do anything drastic like buy new.
They pulsate when slowing is all the problems I'm having, they function as normal at reasonable speed so I'm not going to bin them yet.
Been told they might be able to be machined in situ as they do on tintops, so I'll investigate that too. Otherwise thanks for the tip about Awsome Discs, thanks OZ and Spider.

How does that go with the full floaters? No problems?

Took Slower than you's idea and did the cleaning routine minus the dishwasher, but plenty of Brake and Clutch cleaner.
Fitted new EBC Double H pads replacing the Brembo ones and alls good... so far. I'm still bedding them in but the pulsing has ceased and all feels good.

Thanks
