Default Smokin - Well not really, steamin though

Hey guys,

Because of the rain that is about in Sydney...just wondering if this is normal for the 848....basically, I commute on it each day and of course, in the rain, the bike gets wet - (no shit sherlock, I hear you say)

Anyway, when caught in traffic and stopped, the amount of steam rising off the bike due to water hitting the heated parts is nearly embarrassing....I look like a cloud on two wheels

Anyway, just wondering if others experience this, or if there is perhaps a certain plate or covering that I may be missing (2nd hand bike that I purchased)

Cheers

Rob

Lol, yep thats not unusual - I always joke that while commuting on the 1198 in summer I feel like roast chicken and in winter, steamed duck!

Yep I had a similar problem.

Well not quite.

My 1098 caught fire as I was riding to Brownies house.

Damn back brake

yeah I get the same thing on my 996 in the odd rainy commute. bunch of steam coming from in between the front of the tank and the dash area. it's not exactly comforting but not unusual.

riding it in the rain kind of sucks though as the thing gets so dirty so this last week I've given up and riding the little 100cc 2 stroke yamaha scooter instead. funnily enough I find I'm much more of a demon on the scooter than I am on the ducati...
