how hard is the install?
if I get them to install the dyno wasn't much extra and I was going to have the switch installed for two different maps as well as the traction control adjuster

Hmmmm well for me the install is easy as I've done things like this on bikes for many years. If you've never done one but want to learn, see if a friend of yours will do it and watch and learn. With the traction control and quick shift, it is a little more complex than just the Z-Fi and Z-AFM but really it's all plug and play you just need to know where the wires go.

It's very much like installing a Scorpio I900 alarm on your bike with all the bells and whistles. The wiring diagrams supplied are very good. A lot of things will plug inline with existing parts of the bikes harness but a couple things will require some splicing to get the signals from them.

If you're mechanically inclined, I'd give it a read and give it a go maybe.

I am mechanically inclined so I may give it go I will be installing the headers myself so while everything is off might as well check it out.

Do I need high heat gasket stuff to seal the joints on the header pipes?

I don't think so. They use springs for quick take down if need be so joint sealer not needed.

The only one I'd probably re-do are the exhaust doughnuts at the actual head. Even those have a long life span.

Never a bad idea. I've not had the head pipes off on my 848 so I'm not sure what material they are made of. My Gixxer ones were metalic so they pretty much went forever.
