I use 5100 in my gixxer but 300V in my 1198, mostly because that's what the dealer put into the 1198 at service time.
I think 5100 is good enough.
If anyone knows where to get some Shell Ultra 4 in the States, let me know. I'm willing to switch to "OEM" spec oil.

Manual for my 1198s recomends Shell Ultra grade 15w50. Is this oil a bit heavy??
Dealer told me its a misprint, it should be 10w40. Id rather go by the manual. Maybe
dealer doesnt stock 15w50!
Any mechs any answers?? Rather keep everything correct.

I use Kal Gard Full Synthetic 10W40. They're an aerospace company that also makes oils and lubricants specific to motorcycle engines. It holds up extremely well after miles and miles of hard riding. It doesn't get all sludgy like the stock Shell, or the Maxima oils after 3000 miles. Plus it's a cool ass orange color!
