Ducati Bicycles???? What happened?

This year while at the 2011 MotoGP races in Laguna Seca, I saw this same thing that this report is showing.

http://www.retromotoonline.com/archives/249#comment-47

I spoke with a Ducati Rep, and I asked if these were custom bike, and he said no. That ducati was going to be releasing a carbon fiber model of all 3 bikes, and then a standard aluminum frame model of all 3 bikes in september. That night I promply cleaned up my mountain bike, and began taking pictures so that I could post it up on Craigslist and sell as soon as the Ducati Bicycles were released, and then I waited....

That said, September has come and gone, and no road bikes (bicycles)..... What Happen?
Does anyone have any word on what happened to the Ducati bicycles that were to be released???

Thanks in advance

As far as I know there bikes have and always were made by Bianchi, here is one for example =)

http://www.bianchi.com/Global/Bikes/...tIDMaster=1593

But they haven't released the ones at Laguna, they did have them 2-3 years ago for sale at a very very steep 5,000 or so then... definately weren't worth the price with the components used, was kind of a flop of a promotion, but guess they are trying it again.

so they will mirror their bicycle develpoment with their 2011 MotoGP development???

if the carbon GP bike is any indication of handling issues.....you might want to get the aluminum framed bicycle

Ducati Bicycles

well for the cost, I'd have to go with the aluminum anyhow. But as far as cost goes, it was generally going to be approximately $2100 - $2500 for the carbon models, and $900 - $1200 for the aluminum models. That is as far as my memory serves me. Although I do recall that the hybrid mountain bike was going to be sold at $900. I only remember cuz thats the one I was most interested in.

Cant imagine why this was only announced at Laguna MotoGP, and no where else....

Also at a closer look it appears that searching google for a "Ducati 900SXC, Ducati Factory, or Ducati Classic" bicycle yields no valuable information.

Kicking myself for not getting a name, model, or more information. Ugh... Im so Stupid....

Ducati mountain bike

Now you can own a Ducati for a fraction of what you thought. Ducati mountain bikes start at around $1,200, and road and e-bikes also are available

Hi Wilks..

I have the loan of friends Voodoo Drambula 29'er in single speed. This is the most fun I've had on a mtn bike since I started.

Have you tried a SS set up? It suits me so much, I regularly snap my 3 x 9 chains and the SS is the old 1/8 set.. just stand and mash the pedals.. away wwe go.

I'm trying to get The Boss to let us have a 29 dually.. I think she'd like that.. hahaha..

Pedro,

I took a pic at the same spot-Laguna Seca, but only of the mountain bike as that is the one I was interested in.
I told my fiance we would be ordering one for each of us as soon as they were released, but I recall the guy saying it would be a little later for the bikes to arrive in the US.
Hopefully we see them soon

Looking for manuals for 2002 MV Agusta Senna, black bike cover with "Senna" on it, Nicky Hayden's 2009 Make A Wish Helmet that was auctioned after Indy, or any 2009 Laguna/Indy Hayden items specific to the bike. Let me know if you have any of these for sale or know where I can find them.
