Recently did the quieter clutch mod (about 500kms ago) and its been working great, and noticeably quieter at idle.

Today while taking off from a stop (happened around 3x) i noticed a loud grindingish type noise coming from my clutch and the bike wouldn't accelerate (if it did accelerate it was very little) i would immediately pull in the clutch and the noise would disappear.

Anyway i went home and pulled the friction plate and all the clutch plates, i had thought that maybe the tabs on the extra friction plate i had added sheered off and the remainder of the plate was just floating in there, that however was not the case the extra friction plate was in perfect condition.

I swapped out the extra friction plate with another i had in the garage and put it all back together using brand new springs, bolts, and end caps. took it for a quick spin around the block and the problem didn't re-appear however i'm still weary.

Anyway this experience got me thinking that it may be time for a set of new clutch plates, i purchased the bike second hand and the service records dont show a new clutch being installed, however the PO may have installed them himself. Bike has 21000kms on it now, i'd be inclined to think that even if this was the stock clutch you should be able to get more than 20k out of a clutch pack.

Inspecting my plates i dont really have a reference as to what they should look like as i have never seen a brand new clutch pack in person.

Here are some pictures of the plates and my basket (sorry i didn't get any with the friction plate off but the grooves in the basket are quite small, maybe 2mm deep, if that)

Also you will probably want to know my stack height, unfortunately i couldn't find my friggin calipers after an hour of searching  if you need this measurement to help me with a proper assessment i'll tear it down again tomorrow afternoon and borrow my brothers calipers.

I went out to do an estimate for a lady Ive known for years. She has lots of rentals in my area.

We walk into the house, young guy sitting on the couch. The floors are ruined. She (landlord) goes off on him.

He drops the race card. Tells her if he wasnt black she wouldnt be upset w/ him. I was getting a little annoyed as to how he was talking to a 60yr old woman who is all of 5'3" and 120lbs.

Out of a bedroom comes another guy, about my size and a former marine. Mind you, this is 12pm, both were just rolling out of bed.

I say thank you for your service, seemed like a decent kid. But I was a little annoyed he didnt step in stop this other dipwad from running his mouth.

I have never been put in that situation before and I gotta be honest, I thought maybe just maybe there might have been a confrontation. :wtf:
