I have one of the 150 Nicky Hayden 848 bikes and am trying to get the helmet Nicky wore on July 4th, 2009 at Laguna Seca.

After a bit of research, I am being told IF this helmet was sold, it would only have been sold overseas. It is made by Starline Designs and is an Arai Corsair style. If made, it would probably have been a 2010 helmet.

If you guys have seen one or know where to find one, please let me know.

Hi guys,

I went out and bought a 2008 model 848 with 5900km's in March this year. I have not ridden it since buying it in March as I am still tracking an RS125 until I get my full licence in August.

My question is as follows:
Now after looking at the service book I have noticed that the bike has only had its 1000K service in 2010 and I am wondering if I need to have the major service done now even though its only done half the k's to warrant another service?
The dealer that I purchased the bike from did a oil/filter change but didnt stamp the book.

Hey all,

Thinking of a 2nd toy in my garage. Love my 1198S, but would like another machine.

My thoughts are between the Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC or BMW S1000RR. Both 2012 models.

I realise there is a price difference but if this was not an issue, which one.
Any thoughts & or expierence (if any) would be great. Any & all feedback welcome.

Will be ridden on road & occassional track days. I feel comfortable on both so also no issue.

My stead broke down in Newcastle on Wed (thank god my mate is lending me his CBR600f - although I feel less cool on it - haha)....I have an 848 2008...and we think it might be the sticky selector issue (http://www.ducati.org/forums/848/307...html)...anyway, as the bike is in Newcastle...keen to know who is the best Duc mechanic up there....ie, the persons name...and where they work and I will bell them up

Just after some advice I'm thinking about getting a multi 1200s and the more a read about them the the scarier it becomes it seems they are plagued with problems, the list is extensive.

DES failures
Rear brake issues
clutch slave cylinder
Blown head gaskets
Front forks knocking
Traction control issues

The DES failures seem the worst as I have no confidence in NF importers (Frasers) in AUS giving me any sort of real after sales service, they would have to be the worst company I have ever dealt with.
I was also looking to buy second hand which is now out of the question as any of the above happening out of the warranty period would be financially a killer! The prospect of waiting months for a part from Italy would not be good

Anyone after a bargain 1098R. Only 750kms, 2009, Bayliss Edition (so its a 1198). Better than new (is that possible).

I have no idea how to post photos, but picture a brand new showroom condition Bayliss.

Now, I'm in Darwin regulary, so shipping is not a prob.

Also, I guess concept of bargain will be quite the debating point. Am I dreaming thinking I'll get a sale on this?

Smarty 23rd outright, dunno about class. Pts, 32
Marty Loves Petrol 24th. Pts, 30.5
Kimbo 28th. Pts 12.5

Was pretty close there for while, kimbo and Marty chasing down Smarty for 2nd on the D-Spot podium. Unfortunately Kimbo was taken out by a bobber and weaver leaving Marty to a bag full of points, quick to rub it into a sore kimbo as he and BMan fixed the bike for the next race:bash::laughing:

Last round Kimbo was ready for a last race charge up the order looking for big points haul to level Marty but a rare mistake by the pit crew saw his shift linkage detatch soon into the last race.

I know that there are so many variables in this...but just wondering if I was riding at 60kmph on a normal day...how long for the tyres to get up to optimum warmth....just a ballpark figure as I have no idea...is it 2 mins, 5 mins, 10 mins, 20 mins....just not sure...any suggestions would be appreciated

Blew up 4 laps into the last F1 race. Left so much oil and motor over the track they called it a day.
