Locate the cap for your bulb. ![]() Step 2: Remove the cap - you will see your bulb, unsnap bulb and turn counterclockwise to remove. ![]() Step 3: Drill a 1 inch hole in the middle of your headlight cap. ![]() Step 4: Pull side through the front that includes all of the connector pieces leaving the bulb and two metal prongs on the inside. ![]() Step 5: This is what it looks like pulled through with grommet in place. ![]() Step 6: Insert bulb and rotate to seal - plus black metal prong into brown side and plug blue metal prong into white side. ![]() Step 7: Close view of wiring. ![]() Step 8: Replace cap and run your wiring down to the fairing. ![]() Step 9: Removing fairing to find a triangular plastic piece - unscrew that. ![]() Step 10: Turn plastic piece over and get your two sided tape ready and your ballast/ignitor. ![]() Step 11: This is what it could look like when it is mounted - I used double sided tape to adhere the ballast and ignitor. ![]() Step 12: This is solely for visual purposes and not really a step but this is what it looks like mounted - of course it will be bolted back onto the fairing but you get the idea.

Just fired low beam:
![]() Head on pic at a little distance of both lights on: ![]() Head on pic at a distance: ![]() Look at how much light is coming out of the bike now! These need to be aimed and the bike is on the kickstand but you now have an idea how powerful the 55w are. I am extremely impressed:

Nice clean setup! I like what you did with the ballast, but two questions: 1. Heat's not an issue? 2. I love how/where it's concealed, but isn't it PITA when removing fairings?

Thanks!!
Heat is no problem it actually gets good air flowing through while riding and I've let it sit and driven around with no issues. Actually no issues with fairing you just unscrew as normal and unplug hid wires and done! Let me know what other questions I can answer for you

I do not think so, if it is mod please edit but our 55w Prolumen kit is 160 shipped priority in the 48 states. We do have a couple 35w options as well!

looks good except the fairing removal wiring. maybe it is as easy as you said?
does the two sided tape securely hold the ballasts long term? how does air flow over the ballasts when they are tucked away in there? |

Fairing removal wiring is easy you can reach down and unplug everything before you even unscrew the fairing.
I used 3m tape and it holds at 140 so I think we are okay, airflow doesnt impact because it doesn't really go where everything is mounted.

?? Haha not sure man - if something came loose it wouldn't go anywhere it's all connected. I would be able to hear it rattle and fix it.
You can mount them elsewhere if it worries you.
