Thanks for your input,I was checking through *************** review and found something interesting. The review states the tall gears are a problem not just limited to the 1100 evo,the 796 seems to be plagued with the same problem.Wonder if any 796 owners could chirp in here.

Blackangel,
Beautiful bike. Is that a Monster Art kit on your bike? Corse Edition?

To anyone who owns an 1100 EVO and is complaining of bucking, popping, stalling, etc I would recommend checking your valve clearances. I have 4500 miles on my Monster 1100 EVO and have installed the 14T sprocket but lately it has been stalling when starting cold so I took it to the dealer. It took them 3 weeks of working through various solutions, none of which worked, and finally Ducati instructed them to check all the parameters of the engine, compressions check, valve clearances etc and they found that both exhaust valves were too tight. They adjusted them and the bike is transformed. It doesn't pop on decel, it is smooth and seems to run much better.

Anyway, if your bike is exhibiting any of these symptoms I'd recommend checking your valve clearances.

Hey DucRider,

I've had my EVO for a few months and just had the 1st service completed inc. install of Termis.

Still running 15T sprocket and experience popping, bucking etc on decel but never had issues with the bike stalling.

Does this mean that my valves may need adjusting??

Cheers.

Don't know unless I check them but I do know that my bike runs a lot smoother now. The stalling didn't start happening until the weather turned cooler around here. During the summer it was fine, in fact it seemed to run better when it was hot out.

They are supposedly geared high to pass the emissions tests. Put a 14T on it and you will love the difference

I thought when the bucking started, it means you just have to dig the spurs in and hold on?!
