I am looking at buying one for $2500:
-30K miles -slipons Any thoughts or opinions? Can it be equipped with a dry clutch? What are the maintenance intervals like and is maintenance low? How is the power? It is going to be a commuter. Thanks for your time. |

Unless they have compelte service record, be prepared to do a valve adjustment and replace the belts right off the bat. You're right down the street from ca-cycleworks so you can get the parts cheap and a 2 valve is easy to work on. I'd skip the dry clutch because trying to get the parts to convert it is going to run you easily over a grand. The wet clutch is smoother, lasts longer and has a softer lever pull which is better for commuting. Plenty of power for what you'l be doing with it, but it will feel like a dog compared to your 1098. It's got a metal tank so no expansion issues. Used parts are readily available on e bay. buy it, do the maintenece items right off the bat and run it into the ground over the next few years, it will make a great commuter, and save the wear and tear on your superbike.

Thanks again |

if you're just commuting, no sense in spending more money on upgrades to sit on the freeway and in traffic. save the cash and spend it on the good bike. Just make sure the services are up to date and ride it.
