Default Multistrada s touring

Sponsored Links
I have purhased a 1200 tour S about 6 months ago , I had the termagoni pipe and ECU installed , from the first day it has run like shit under 3200 revs it surged ,backfired , lurched and basically drove me mad , I complained and the suppliers sent a replacement standard ECU
that the service agent installed and this improved the bike to allmost acceptable but still had all the same symptoms . the service agent talked me into installing a commander and optimizer and this would solve all my problems , well this was completed just before christmas and when i picked up the bike it was running great below 3200 revs but now runs like shit between 3200 revs 4000 revs , the service agent told me that the combination of ECU commander that it is self learning and it should run good after a bit of riding , well as I suspected this has not happened it is now parked in the shed with me too pissed to ride it . I have completed 5500 km on a bike that has run like shit , i have spent up to $36,000 dollars , had to take days off work as the service agent is 1.5 hours away . I have reached a point that i am sorry I have blought Ducati Multistrada . Does any one have a suggestion where I can go in north Queensland where someone will know how to get this bike running properly

If you have stock exhaust with just a slip on and run a stock ECU, I would just add a Bazzaz unit that comes with 2 maps, stock ECU+slip on and stock ECU+stock exhaust, the maps are right on the money and can be adjusted down to 500 rpm if you wish. I have it on my SFS and wouldn't go any other way since I'm not looking to race it, just looking to get it to run right.

The question is: do you have a full system or a slip on? You said the pipe, meaning the slip on? In that case there is no ECU to go with it, only the full system does and in that case if the full system is installed with dedicated ECU there should be no problem at all other than the dealer having no clue to how set up a bike.

"I complained and the suppliers sent a replacement standard ECU"

Figure out what you have, full or slip on, race ECU or standard......
Hard to tell from here.....
Pictures would help also.

it was fitted with the full termagoni exhaust , ecu and filter . the mapping in the termagoni supplied ECU (mitubishi ) had bad mapping under 3200 revs it would backfire surge , stall . Ducati aust supplied a replacement ecu ( standard -remapped ) and this was definetley better but still erratic under 3200 revs , with advice from the service agent a commander 5 and optimiser were installed to hopefully solve the problem , this made it run good under 3200 revs but developed a problem from 3200 -4000 revs it will run good for approximatley 100 km but then it progressivley runs richer (this is all betwwen 3-4200 revs ) the service agent has again remapped a couple of times but it starts reverting back to running too rich , we will wate until the commander importers are available after the christmas break and see if there is a solution unless one of you can help

For the money you paied for the full system Ducati should have replaced the Race ECU with one that worked, not a remapping IMHO.
Was the bike prepped right before the system installation?
