Fitting a CF key guard
Does anyone know if you can purchase the plastic part the field coil for the smart key clips onto or do you have to rip it off and refix it to the CF piece?
It seems the CF replacement does not have it. Its also the soft grommet that goes around the key barrel.
Cheers
Ross

Most of the CF keyguards I've seen fit over top of your OEM rubber one. What kind of guard did you get?

Yeah, on mine I just pulled the two bolts and slid the cover piece over the stock piece. Three minute job. There've been a few posts about guys tearing the whole thing apart; I think they're being a bit over-exuberant...

Yep, thats the way its ment to mount.
I just went out to fit it and the piece is so poorly made by the time I got the dermmel out to get it to fit the bolts pull through.
I suppose that will teach me to skimp with the dollars on cheap local made crap!

I am a little confused on this one. Same gear as Shift-Techs? The stuff about the best I get but the rest you would have to explain in more detail to me.

don't feel bad.....the local ducati dealer couldn't figure it out either.....I was wondering why the cf piece would wobble and the bike wouldn't start intermittantly...then I looked at the original pice and the new piece and figured it out
