agree with rusty but suppose you can deal with all of that later. Relax, be patient especially for the first couple of sessions and have fun. Later in the day tag up with a coach and have him tow you around!

I know, but you ask for advice, and tires is one of them.I'm not telling you ride with race tires, just take ones with little bit more grip.you still going lean more than you probably did ever on street so you don't want loose grip and low side,or high side.

i went to thunderbolt in jersey for my first track day last year. the first session, especially the first few laps, was terrible. i was so nervous...didn't wanna fall etc etc. but as the day went on i really enjoyed myself. by the end of the day i was having more fun than i've had in ages.

being new to the sport and track i obviously can't give you advice. but i can tell you that you'll have a ball....and learn a ton in the process.

enjoy yourself...i know i had an incredible experience and will be back at the track this year a few times.

1. Get there early
2. Take off all bits you do not need and tape up ligths etc.
3. Crash bungs often wise
4. Fluid and a banana, after each time on track.
Small lunch.
5. Do not follow other people as you will do what they do = disaster.
6. Do not go as fast as you can on straights, focus on getting corners correct first.
7. Walk the track if you have time it is relaxing and is really insightful.
8. Talk to others in your group.
9. Toolkit, coat hanger for your leathers to dry them after each session if hot, always keep more fuel in tank than you need. Running out is a real pain for all
10. Use the instructors. Get one to follow you round for a couple of laps.
11. Keep girlfriend - a rare find.
12. Enjoy it above all.

thanks for all the advice guys. I am SO stoked for the 3rd. I also found this little track day checklist from some other forum a guy made, so i figured i would share it here for anyone who could find it useful.

Again, I didnt make this and do not take credit for it.

Man I wish my husband would have been willing to schedule my 1st track day for me. Was like taking a kicking & screaming kid to the hospital instead.

You will learn quite alot & have a total blast. Be more careful in the afternoon because you will get tired as the sessions progress & your reaction time/senses will slow.

Stay safe & have fun.
