Sponsored Links
Well actually my girlfriend did it for me

early valentines day gift from her. Its for the 3rd at motorsports ranch in cresson. This will be my first track day. And what are some veteran tips you guys could give me.

The bike is a 749s with dunlop qualifiers. (i hate these tires) so i got a pair of bridgestone bt-016 for $200 that ill mount before the 3rd.

I also signed up for the first timers school. What should i be looking out for while on the track?

BT 016 it's not the best choice.get 03s. Just watch the instructor.on straight way shake your elbows so you know you relax.just take easy.try seat all the way back and focus on your body position.

Do what you want.but you taking wrong tires to track.you want have good grip and feel comfortable.get wrong tires just because they cheap is not the best think, specially when you save only $ 45.
Who told you 03s eat up fast on street? What is fast?
My tires last me 2 days.stop worry about how long your tire will last, and worry to stay on two wheels.

Default tires

if you are worried about a tire for the track you might want to second guess your decision to out on the track. If your wooried about 40-50 bucks you will probably really worry about 3000 bucks from going down. When it comes to your life or even broken bones money shouldnt be an option. Buy the best for the best result.

Another good tire choice would be the Michelen pilot power 2ct. You can find a front and rear for around $210 shipped to your door. Just look online at Jake Wilson, Bikebandit, sportbike track gear, ect... until you find a sale. These tires are duel compound and provide plenty of traction for the track and also wear great for the street. I'm not sure if you have tried Michelen before but they are worth a shot. I've been riding them for about 3 years now and love em!

The bto16 is also a dual compound tire. They are a cheaper than the 2ct and I find them to be really similiar. I also bought a set over the summer cause it was such a deal they were $180 shipped to my door. But I don't think I will use at the track I am going to pick up a set of Dunlop q2s for that.

Have fun learn the track go at a speed that is comfortable for you don't try and set any record times out there.
Never worry about what's behind you concentrate on whats ahead smooth is better than fast.
And have fun once again.

If its your first time I can't imagine you'll be setting any lap records so I think your tire choice Is just fine, more importantly is what psi you run in them as the best tire with wrong psi is far worst IMO, ask a tire guy there for advice on what psi to run.
Relax
Don't get tense and squeeze shit out of the bars lol
And last thing
Try to be SMOOTH!!!

Cresson is a fun little track. Take it easy in the morning and listen to the instructor. They will provide some good information make a safe and fun experience.
