One final note from my install: i want to echo what Jason. says earlier in this thread. Whether you go FH or SH, move the RR to the right side. It is just so much more sensible.

I need to do this ASAP on my 2007 1098, so, to move the RR to the right I need the Triumph harness w/36 leads, right? Would love to get a built carbon or aluminum mounting bracket from somebody...

The triumph harness will work for the FH 020 install that some people did. It will NOT work for installing a SH 847 or if you need to trim off a bunch of burned stator wire. I used the Roadstercycle Super Harness install kit with my 847 but had to request 36" stator wires.

The Triumph harness makes for easy plug and play of the FH 020. I would still recommend the super harness kit based on advice in Roadstercycle's webpage. The regulator post in the How-To section will also be good reading.

EDIT: The Triumph harness MIGHT work for a SH 847 if you mount it low enough (lower than I mounted mine on the final bracket design). I'm still happier with the wiring going up out of harm's way.

This is version 3 of the RR bracket. I'm calling that the final one...

I'll have to price out what it would be worth... But, yes, I could do that.

I am glad to see that people are adopting this modification.

In my experience, the Triumph harness is long enough to route the stator wires over to the right side, by going under the head.
