Issue hitting my hands on the front fariing when turning

Hi everyone, I am a proud new Ducati owner but wanted to see if anyone else had this issue. I just picked up a 2008 1098S and when I turn 85% either way my knuckles are hitting the top fairing. Has anyone experienced this before? ( I have XXL hands but did not think this was normal)

Any ideas how to fix other than lowering the clip ons?
Thank you!

Yes it is normal, it was the first thing I noticed when moving my bike around in the garage.

There is a small amount of play in the dowels for the clip-on bars. Loosen the pinch bolt and rotate the bar to the rear. It may be enough to allow clearance at full lock.
