Stator Recommendation

I think my stator has gone bad. Does anyone have a rec for a replacement one? Went to Ducati Omaha but the part number came up as costing almost $800.

It's rare that stator windings short-out. What are your AC voltage outputs at elevated rpms?

Yes, the OEM stator is only sold with the rotor, so not a cheap solution.

I've also heard that it's rare for stator windings to burn out, but I have a collection of 5 burnt-out ones at home that I've accumulated over 3 years and about 40,000 kilometres.

Is that failure rate remotely normal???? The stator in my 1198s was replaced last year under warranty by my dealer, it failed three weeks after I bought the bike and the dealer was in tears about how much the part cost. I thought that I didnít need to worry about the stator ever again but you seem to go through one less than every 10,000km - surely that canít be normal!
