1098R.... Recommendations

Gents,
Just picked up a 1000mi 1 owner 1098R.

Slapped on some new rubber, oil, coolant, brake fluid, and did a belt service as she was sitting for 8yrs in previous owners office.

I did some homework here already and have a new Mofset Series Regulator on the way. Hoping this cures her running HOT in casual city traffic.

I've got access to non-ethanol fuel... so I'm somewhat hoping the tank issue doesn't suddenly appear. Time will tell.

Other than that... any other thoughts on things I should look to tackle?

Looked it over... Will do. Thanks for that!

Is everyone running the provided map with the Race ECU here in the States? Anyone go off on their own and tweak it?

Realized today on a ride, that my fans are not running. She got up to about 205' and then I was able to get some air moving through and she cooled down, but for certain, my fans didn't come on even at that temp.

Other than the obvious, checking wiring and fuses... any thoughts?

Fans would not turn on until coolant reaches 217F

103 degrees c or 217 f is the fan on temp
I run a microtec ecu and have adjusted the fan temp to 90c.

I've never had a problem with my tank distorting at all. There's a wiring kit that I had my dealer install ($100.00) which supposedly lowers the resistance and makes starting better. It seems to have worked. You might be able to find it by searching the forum unless someone can recall the name. Both my 1098S and 1098R have needed the thermistor replaced - the gizmo that senses low fuel and turns on the warning light And these puppies run hot. I've occasionally pulled over if I can't get around or through traffic. And at (blush) 105 these things with full termis sing.

I'm using the Termi Race system and the DP ECU. Some people have complained but other than it getting hot, it works for me. Some day I'll run my own A/F but it just hasn't been a priority. Pretty bike, any more pics?

Unfortunately the weather turned pretty quick around here and I only got about 500 miles on her.. and no decent pics.

She's all tucked away for 6 months till spring arrives...
