Protectionng your pride and joy - Alarm - tracker - Big Frick'en Lock

My current bike is micro dotted so that bought down the insurance. Thinking of doing it again or putting on a sticker that says it.

Ducati's have an imombilzer but I was wondering does anyone put any weight on bike alarms or trackers

The bike will be insured but you have the added costs if it gets stolenand and I don't want some F******* D*** stealling it and getting peanuts for the parts or enjoying my bike

Forgive my ignorance, what is "micro dotting"?

Micro dots

Micro dots are very small acrylic dots with and id or vin number that is sprayed on non-visible areas of your bike/Car.

http://www.carsafe.com.au/t_05_a3.html

BMW uses it on their cars

The microdots, just millimetres in diameter, can't be seen by the naked eye but contain the vehicle's identification number and can be applied anywhere on a car from the underbody to the glovebox.

In what is thought to be a world first, it is believed BMW is considering applying the microdots to its cars in Australia before they are delivered to dealers. Until now, the microdot technology has been applied to vehicles only on a production line.

The microdots can be read with a magnifying glass and their location detected with an ultraviolet light.

Security experts are confident the system can't be beaten or forged. If a thief attempts to paint over a microdot, it will leave an air bubble. As for thieves trying to remove the microdots, there is a strong chance they won't find them all, given the dots can be sprayed into a car's air vents and under seats. Further, if a car doesn't appear to have any microdots when it should, this will arouse suspicion.

Microdot technology has been mooted for some time, but only recently has technology allowed the company to include a car's vehicle identification number

What do people think of the Scorpio Alarm SR-i500S with 2-way paging security system?

I also datadotted my current 998. Will do the same with the 1098.
