i'll take a pic of my center post - it's possible we have different ones.

haven't tried the rim clamp yet that way. i'm usually too impatient and go for brute force over the smart and proper method.

-- is the pin i am talking about on yours pretty much 1 pc ? - that could be the difference, as NoMar has told me the "new one" should be a permanent fix - remains to be seen - i guess they pulled an old box off the shelf for my shipment

-- going the "brute force" way works too, but given the fact that they really have thought the whole thing thru makes much more sense after you try both ways - i found myself digging the tip in and just hoping to catch it right....when i use the "mamby-pamby" rim clamps the tip inserts alot easier

yup, my center post is once piece, including the nub at the bottom.

i'll try the rim clamp next time. should have a few more sets of tires to change in the next couple of weeks. lots of lube helps, too.

Lots of lube and make sure the bead is broke completely. Never had to use the rim clamps on duc wheels, but if it makes it easier then sounds good to me. Good luck.
