Dedicated forum area for 1098R Owners

Hi

Can we please have a 'dedicated' 1098R Owners forum. The bike is completely different to the standard 1098 and 1198 models and is raced in SBK.

Desmosedici RR have there own Forum section so why cant us 1098R owners?

I cant be bothered anymore to fish through 1098 & 1198 threads with people talking about how many miles they have completed & 'check my paint job out'

I want to know about which parts are worth getting for my 1098R - What custom maps owners have - and discuss my bike with other owners.

Come on Ducati Spot - Give us our own 1098R - 1098R Bayliss Forum!

Rumpus & possible Troy!

and saved $20K!!! Ripped off I reckon.

And while we are on the elitist topic, why do us 1098 owners have to share our threads with the 1198 owners?

We were here first!!! 1198 owners shit me. And 1098R owners. Perhaps we can shove them all in their own bucket and let them stew in it.

Valid point Soz. I didn't know that I shitted you though, but that's a topic for another thread. Maybe there should be separate boards for every specific bike. Then we could all roll around in our own glory.

Like Bayliss Replica owners.......I hate 'em!!!

I don't really think it's needed Troy. The bike isn't "completely different" although there are quite a few differences.

Most of the mods you will make to a 1098R are the same that you will make to a 1098/1098S/1198/1198S. Any other R specific questions can be raised and answered in a single thread.

Don't worry about Wilson, he's just jealous.

I want my own forum as well, I'm special.

I can sit there all by myself and jerk off.

Seriously though, and I may well be wrong, but isn't a R prety much an 1198s with some Ti con rods, a few lighter gearbox internals and half a point more compression.

As far as maps go, unless you're the factory you get what you get with the ECU. And if you mean PCIII maps, any good tuner will tell you to map the bike individually for best results. If you can afford the R you can afford the 600 or so bucks for a top notch custom tune.

Really?
Isn't one forum enough for the 1098/s/r,1198/s models? The Rs are a bit different but not enough to justify a whole separate froum. I've ridden one and the butt dyno says it's about the same as my 1198. Heck my 1198 with Ohlins suspension will have better suspenders front and rear than a stock R (after this weekends install job anyway).

I guess the differences are only known and valued by real Ducatisi huh fellas? It's what's at the heart of the matter that's different. Anyone with money can buy suspension, wheels, or carbon.

It'd still be pretty lonley though Rumpus.

Rosco - you're the heart transplant guy in the armani suit dripping with tasteful jewelry.

your butt dyno is gay... the R is definitely more an animal, have you really ridden both?

Of course he hasn't. If he had, he would know instantly the difference. I came off of my well tuned 1098 and rode the R and I think I still have some seat cover material stuck up my ass from how hard it made me pucker! When you can feel the pull in your sternum, you know that you are on an R.

Wow ! I feel like such a tool here with my plain Jane 1098. Being new here, I am glad to see there are some fine members on here to entertain me. Keep up the good elitist bullshit, we don't want those rumors to die.

By the way which color decals would look best...

What is a 'gay butt dino'? Some kind of Village People tyrannosaurus rex costume?

Can we please have a Gay Butt Dino forum? Please?
