Why not powder coat it, either from a shop or yourself? Takes all of 25 min.

It's not Q8 i'm tired of, but the command that we are "attached" to and its mentality. At least in Afghanistan and Iraq, I felt like there was a purpose, everything was cut-and-dry. There is WAY too much political BS here. On top of that, we got extended to 15 months, for what? I wouldn't be surprised if this place become a PCS. I'm greatful, but this shit is ridiculous, you know?!?

I gotcha. I said the same things on each of my last series of deployments.... fuck this I'm retiring, best way to make sure a new command of political agenda doesn't catch me up.

Cheer up, Brooksy. It could always get worse...

I spent 18 mos at an overseas post, then was in Saudi for the first war, beginning Day 2 after Hussein invaded Kuwait, then in the northern Iraqi mtns with the Kurds for the end of it, then a 15 month remote in Turkey (mostly SE Turkey) after that...

Pretty much ended my marriage...which in retrospect was a good thing...so there's always a bright side!

Thanks for the offer... I have found a local guy here who will do it for me.

About the Iraq and Q8 deployments. I am a former Marine, I flew on Ch-46's and was in the initial war in 2003, and the Fallujah operation in late 2004. I decided I had enough of being shot at, and got the hell out. It's one thing to be shot at when you can hide in cover or concealment, but when you are flying in a big gray helicopter it tends to get a bit crazy.

But I have to appreciate the experience, I would not have the Job I have today, and would not have the beautiful bike I ride if it were not for the training the Military gave me.

So take the bad with the good, and let it shape you for the future.... at least that's what i did...

Helo good to hear you found someone local. Not sure your interested, but when I done my sidestand, I also knocked out the rider and pass. rearsets, as well as those on a 848 (matte black) and a 696 Monster (matte black). The items look very nice, and ironically, I see the new bikes have black sets on them straight from Italy! Good luck with and post pics when your done please.
