Foot-peg Frame Tabs breaking

anyone who has gone down has probably had some type of bending on the tabs that come off the frame to hold the footpegs.

My bike has a bent (and then pulled back into place) tab from a lowside.

What is everyones experience with this:
Totaled bike
new frame
modified tabs
etc

Can i have a shop weld some reenforcement as a preemptive precaution ...? I would imagine they might be able to get in behind the table and do something that would support the tab, and not be visible.

No experience with it personally, just reading other people having the same issue.

Curious, was this with OEM rearsets, or fixed peg type aftermarket?

I dont have full coverage, and i wouldnt want it to be totaled. I bought the bike knowing about the bent tabs (but the price was to good to pass). The bike had the OEM folding pegs on it when it went down.

cant you just take it over to a welder and have it repaired? You can then sand it down and color match and paint it.... totalling the bike is bad unless you want to buy it back...the blue book values insurance companys use are low balling the resale value of these bikes

in most cases I've seen posted here, the tabs can be bent back and reinforced. I would tell you to do a search but I'm not sure what to look for as they would probably be listed under a number of different titles.

Are you talking his 1098s or a Desmo? $2300, thats about $700 more than the CF extra capacity endurance tanks cost. Sides new are only $400-500, same with nose, and lowers, tail is pricey piece at around $800, from quotes I got a couple months ago from a dealer.

SpeedyMoto sells reinforced frame tabs, you'll need to have a shop weld them on.
