477 miles, its brand spankin new
i live in Birmingham, Alabama
bad news, not a single ducati dealership close to me, closest is atlanta or nashville. that kinda sucks
i do and will have tons of questions shortly, trying to figure some stuff out myself before i become the eternal question answer'er

Very nice looking bike. Has some nice add ons, too. You may not be close to a Ducati dealer but you are close to Barber. Any plans for a track day?

Carbon: I go through B'ham quite a lot for business. Although you don't have a dealer nearby, you have Barber track in your backyard.

Where did you find your Duc?

not sure about track day, never ridden track before
yes Barbers is like 15 minutes away
I actually picked up the bike off of ebay from a guy in Utah, 13k, 477 miles, and all the accessories i think i got a darn good deal, i love the bike. still getting used to a few things though.
Ohlins Steering Dampener, im not sure if it was just set to real tight but i had to loosen it alot to get used to the steering, also starting off it seems it wants a decent amount of rpm's or it almost sounds like it is lugging itself.

besides that, just checkin to see how everything is. the sprocket and regulator have already been replaced via warranty before i got it.

under the rear seat rest, i see a plug, not sure what it is used for, didnt come with owners manual but i did find one from ducati's site and have been researching items through it.

had DAS (Dependable Auto Shippers) ship the bike, 700 bucks and it was picked up at the guys house in Salt Lake Utah and delivered to my doorstep in 9 days. cant complain there.

i assume we only get about 100 miles or so from the gas tank size? crazy how this L-twin just eats up that gas hehe.

what else should i be on the lookout for ?

-Carbon

on a side note, i registered the Ducati but the pics wont show when i uploaded them, wonder whats up with that.

Ya, they have a really tall first gear so that takes a bit of getting used to if you are coming off an inline bike. It makes this bike a real pain in the ass during heavy traffic. But it more than makes up for it. Many people drop a tooth on the front sprocket and I may end up doing that as well. Although I am hesitant since the bike power wheelies in the first three gears. Its already pretty wild. The plug under the rear seat is for the DDA (Ducati Data Analyzer) Basically you have the bike record information like lap times and stuff like than and then download it to your computer. I have never used mine and neither has anyone else I know. Honestly, I don't know all the details about it though. It may be more useful if you look into it. Have fun with your new bike.

I always wondered about people who buy a bike and in 3 years only put a few hundred miles on it.

Seems crazy to me!

Be safe out there and enjoy the turning heads as you go by.

Great find !
Saw a leftover '08 1098 on the showroom floor not too long ago. Spare the Electronics of the 1198 thank-you.

Even more amazing is the 'Carbon' name was available.....
