4 -Tri-Colore (In Chicago)

I thought I'd Share.

I saw 4 Tri's At CCC(Chicago Cycle Center) on Sat. I was shocked to see 4 brand new Tri's and when the rep notice my suprise he then hid 3 of the 4.

Don't be fooled by the trick check out the whole store bc they are hiding them in the back under a cover .

It's kind of funny how some dealer got lots of TC while others hardly got any. In my case, I bought mine from a dealer back in July and they gave me a discount ($26K OTD vs. $28.7 OTD). In contrast, Pro Italia (my usual dealer) could barely get one and sold it full MSPR. They sold a pre-owned one for $23K a few months ago.

So, I'm wondering. Did or can certain dealer order more of a certain bike? I figure some dealer though the Tricolore was going to be really hot and sell over MSRP.

So out of couriousity I took a look at what's available in Southern California. Pro Italia, Spectrum, and SoCal Ducati don't have a Trioclore in stock.

In Cycletrader, there's a private owner in Orange County selling his for $25,200. It's got some add ons and I suspect he's trying to cover his $26K to $28K OTD costs. Then, there's on in San Leandro, CA and expanding Houston, TX, Charleston, SC, and Ledgewood, NJ. There's also one in Lincolnwood, IL on eBay with a buy now of $23,500 with 14 bids.

How do you figure out what dealerships have what bikes and how many without just calling them?

I had my man-servant make the calls. He displeased me.

PS: I'm not gay.

I was actually looking for 848's in Southern California. I had to call each dealership and listen to them say "oh yeah, we just got one white one in an hour ago. Put a deposit in now before its sold tonight." So I was just wondering if there was an easier non-BS way.

Wilson's in Fresno seems pretty no-BS from my talking to them before. Ive hd very good luck with Monterey Powersports. Both are a bit away from SoCal - but hey, get a bike in Monterey and enjoy the ride home.

Hell, if they gave me a good enough deal, id take my truck up there to pick up a bike no prob. I might have to postpone buying a bike though.

Don't be fooled, there are going to plenty of EVERYTHING available soon. Guys are already backing out of 1098R's and The Desmo's will be next. Some guys got all excited about it, but when it's time to money up, there will be a fair share of people taking a pass. Already, 1098's are sitting in showrooms, and Tri's are stll sitting from last year.

Von, do you know if the Tricolore are still at CCC? Where they going for $20K?

Reason I ask is someone is asking $21K for mine but I think I'm going to pass (I'd like $23K). If CCC is going to give him one for $20K, I'll pass that info along.

Rode out there over the weekend; saw 2 of the tri's in hiding and 1 out on display. Asked about it and they said all of 'em have deposits on them already. I guess we just have to wait for the current owners to get sick of 'em and sell 'em on the used market.
