Did you get a letter? How did you hear about this?

I got my letter yesterday, It had to be signed for so Ducati must be making sure that customers are aware of the danger as if the sprocket shears (As it has done to several owners !) it wrecks the entire swinging arm, wheel and crankcases.

The affected bikes are stated below,

"As of 5th December 2007 the modified sprocket flowed into production
from frame no. ZDM1XBEW38B014360 for US models and from frame no.
ZDMH700AA7B013062 EU versions."

It's the rear sprocket on the earlier models, so if you have a model prior to these chassis numbers, you just need your dealer to check it and record its been checked / changed. the later sprocket has a larger web between the cush drive mounts.

I would suggest everyone affected contacts their dealer to reserve a new sprocket. I have telephoned 5 UK dealers today just enquiring about the recall and they all said that they were awaiting the new parts from Ducati and a couple said that they have had to get back on to Ducati to order more because the amount they were being sent did not cover the amount of customers they needed parts for.

Here to wreck another post? Excellent... Let me start.

Hippies Suck!

Ya know it's funny how you lurk around waiting for someone to misread something or over look a point to throw it in their face. It's not going to work dude, too many users on here know about you now and you are not fooling anyone on what you think are witty remarks. It's not going to fly anymore... Your job as a Troll here is no longer needed.

At any rate, no recall letter for me (yet).

Jason, do you ever sleep or are you either late to bed or up early ?

What are you 5 or 8 hours behind us in the UK and you were posting at 12 midday here so it was either 4am or 7am over there. Plus you still post at 1am sometimes your time ??

When do you find time to work on your bike, you must be wrecked.

hahahaha

I guess I am lucky to have some free time at work to use the net here and there.
Like chatting with you guys and we got a pretty good group here. As you can see I am pretty passionate about my hobbies.

As far as Elton goes, he is nothing more than a Troll. It seems like all he does anymore is hang around and wait for someone to slip up so that he can correct them, I guess it’s how he gets his jollies more or less compensating for some depressed ego. He really does not bother me for the most part… He is more or less like a fly that keeps buzzing around you head from time to time.

Now that I recall, didn't someone on this forum have his sprocket tear apart on him... I wonder how many others have had this happen to them?

I don't usually get in the middle of Jason and Elton's spats but it clearly stated,

" frame no. ZDM1XBEW38B014360 for US models and from frame no. ZDMH700AA7B013062 EU versions"

Did Elton need to point it out.....No.

By far we all get along here and respect each other, these little tiffs are very minor to what I've seen(and been involved with) on other forums. I believe if these two ever met in person they'd buy each other a beer and talk motorcycles.

With that said, their back-n-forth bullshit does add a bit of spice to the board.
