Well, My bike just experienced this issue. I was unable to shift and the gearbox seized. This was during my merging onto an on ramp. I was unable to drive mine home, so I have pic of a 1098 being towed. I('s going to the dealer tomorrow. I have to see wht hey say Especially since I just paid 661 for the 7500 mile sevrice where they stated that the bike was striped annd reviewed witha fine tooth comb.
Hey Elton what do you think?.

I have had this problem three times already, they keep bleeding air out of my clutch. It's a warranty issue now, waiting for them to agree to fix it for good.

When you have a 1098 that has been crashed on the left side, you are likely to have shifiting problems.

Bigcheese, I am not talking about your your bike, just another infamous 1098. I feel your pain. BTW, did you install new rearsets?. Did you adjust the shift linkage?

sounds like the same issue I had. Shift fork was borderline tolerance, fork return spring broke, transmission locked in second. My dealer replaced the return spring, adjusted the shift forks. The transmission shifts like butter now. Couldn't even tell where they were into the transmission.

I can't believe Ducatio are still having this problem. It happened to my 500 Pantah the day after the Warrantty ran out. Still probably would have chosen to fix it myself anyway. Just nice to know, nobodies hands have been in there but yours. The spring only cost about $1.50. Had to make a few special tools for the Job though.
