2008 1098 price check

hey everyone. so i have been scouring the internet this past month tryin to find out all the info i can about ducati. i was leanin towards the white 848 at first but wen i heard about the financing deals on the current 1098, i jus couldnt pass it up. i am finally ready to purchase but before i do, i wanted to ask everyone here for current prices people are paying for their 1098 if its ok. i have searched many ducati forums and a lot of them are quite outdated and i wanted to know what kind of deals people are currently getting after the msrp increase. i am planning to get a deal for 15500 otd. do you think that is possible? especially with the new 1198 rolling out soon? i have 4 dealers in mind now that are around my area in orange county. berts, hahm newport, spectrum, and the one in brea (i forget the name) i heard modesto ducati is awesome but its just too far of a drive for me so im trying to stay local. any other suggestions? thanks in advance and i hope i get the privilege of being a fellow ducati owner.

Just a tip.
Wait after the EICMA show in Milan (November4-9) when Ducati will release the 1198 specs and pricing then the 1098 prices will drop since it will be an out-of-production model.
I believe you will be able to achieve a price around 15k otd.

just buy a used 1098, and it will be way cheaper for you and suit your need.

What is sales tax in CA? In KY, I got $15400 OTD at 6% sales tax.

Given the tax rate, I'd say jump on it.

What about Dealers in SoCal. Any current buyers get a good OTD price?

I mean MSRP is $15,995 so you think i could write them a check for $15,500 and they'd bite?

Thoughts, ideas...

BTW - im replacing my 848 that got totaled. AND trying to give my dealer REPEAT business in excess of $10k in less then 4 months. They should hook me up.

Any chance of walking out with a 1098 with termi slip-ons and a few accesories for $17,000?

That's the max I want to spend. But I'd like the termis of I can get out the door for that price.

Should I offer less and see what they could do?

I'd be writing them a check btw...

How do you know that ducati will release the 1198 this november? Please show some proof.

By the way, please look on ebay. There is one I am very interested: 620 miles and 15,000 bucks. Bone stock. Shame on the color though, I want red not yellow...

You can always ask for $15,500 OTD, the problem is do they have what you want in stock.
