Did a track day with a guy on a 916 at Queensland Raceway. Had 95k on it. Flogged the shit out of it and rounded us all up. Sounded and went like a dream. He said he changes the oil every 4-5k and keeps giving it a little TLC.

I suspect any sport bike will not be a comfortable commuter so if you truly fell in love with it buy it!

I agree, if a comfortable commuter is what your looking for, your on the wrong bike...but I ride my 848 everyday, rain or shine, and love every second of it..ok well i do try and steer clear of the rain, but it does happen.

I have 10K on mine...
No major issues, yet.
I only ride in the mountains. Never commute, I use Delta for my commutes.

I plan on keeping my 848 for a long, long time.
I also have a VFR800Fi and a BMWK1200LT, the 848 has been much lower to maintain than the BMW.
But nothing will beat the Y2K VFR as far as being dependable.

Low mileage 848

Tthey make the rider extremely hot. Hot air from the radiators is not diverted away from your body and the rear exhaust header heats up the seat.
