899 suspension problem???
The other day I came to a red light under a somewhat hard stop and I heard a "clang" sound (similar to running over a metal grate) as the front of my bike dipped slightly down and to the left. I'm not very familiar with suspension setup but I pulled over and checked the brakes and suspension and nothing seemed unusual. Now I've noticed the bike feels a bit less stable. It used to be so firmly planted but now it feels like it has a "loose" front end. Currently has just under 4K miles, never wheelie more than a few inches and stay off rough roads. I've searched the forums but I haven't come across this issue. Any ideas on what the problem could be? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Make sure triples are not loose. You gotta get the bike off the ground and have the front wheel unloaded. Maybe suspend the bike from behind the triples...
Then see if the head bearings move around.

Raise the front end if you can and check for play in the front end by wiggling.
Or get assistance from a friend to do it.
Could be head bearing related.
