Throttle Body Wiring Plug

Hi all,

I am going through all my electrical connections and giving them a clean after my starting issue a while back.

Can anyone help me with how to un-plug the electrical connector at the bottom of the airbox right in front of the vertical cylinder which supply's the injectors and TPS?

I cannot for the life of me work this one out!

I can see there are pins but have no idea how to depress them. Is a special tool needed or is it far more simple (and obvious) than that?

All help appreciated, cheers

If I'm not mistake, that connector unscrews and just pulls right out.

Hi dar5,

You are quite correct! I called a mechanic friend who said the same thing.

My difficulty was that the every time I tried unscrewing it, then entire harness (inside the air box) would twist with it. I thought there must be a trick to it but in the end, I used duct tape to secure the rubber mount at the air box so that it wouldn't twist.

With the rubber mount secured, it took a fair deal of force (relative to what would normally be required) to undo the connector.

Once undone, the plug itself also took some more effort. In hindsight, I have had the bike 7 years and it's the first time disconnected so I should have taken this into account.

Thanks for your replay & cheers
