Looking at purchasing a 749S but...

How do I verify the bike is a true “S” model?

I’ve checked 3 different vin research sites and 2 of them list the bike as a 749 “biposta”. Yes, “biposta” not the proper “biposto”. So right off the bat I’m doubting the quality of the vin research sites. But it does raise a tiny red flag: If these sites mispellled “biposto” and it’s only a typographic error, then this bike isn’t a true “S” model because from my limited research the US market only offered the “S” model as a monoposto. Correct?

So I would like to know if there’s any difinitive way to verify that this bike is a true “S” model. Because anybody can add S fairings and a solo tail, what key feature can’t be faked that proves this is a true 749S?

Thanx!!!

Adjustable rearsets.. should be three threaded hole options for adjusting the rearsets.

Base had one position.

HI OOK-

This is Ducati's official vin lookup for recalls, but it correctly identified my bike as a 749R so I think it should Identify the sub-model of your bike as well

This also has been accurate for me:
